Job summary

Highly Specialised Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist. - Band 7

We are in an exciting time of development for East Sussex Healthcare MSK services. Having established AP and FCP posts and developed our MSK care pathways, we are now looking to recruit more band 7 physiotherapists to join our clinical teams to support delivery of our patient care pathways. This role will includeworking one day a week in an FCP capacity and you should be able to demonstrate CPD activity working towards a broad range of expert level clinical skills.

Successful candidates would demonstrate expertise in clinical assessment and treatment, in conjunction with leadership skills to support our Primary Care colleagues, Clinical Team Leads, Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Lead and MSK Consultant physiotherapist, on the delivery of MSK care pathways. They should have a strong CPD base from which they will be supported to develop an advanced practice FCP clinical skillset.

Main duties of the job

There is opportunity to develop skills in sub specialities that align to our MSK care pathways such as; upper limb, lower limb, rheumatology, and spinal. Successful candidates will be supported to progress to develop an advanced practice FCP clinical skillset.

Innovation is key to the development of our services. You will be fundamental in the clinical development of others and the service, and as such will be expected to take the development opportunities we can offer you. We have close links with the University of Brighton and post-graduate education is actively encouraged.

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust currently delivers a musculoskeletal physiotherapy service within 8 outpatient settings across East Sussex, with additional support provided through our partnership working with primary care colleagues in the Sussex community. This post involves close working with our clinical Lead, Advanced Practitioners, Clinical Band 7's and clinical Team Leads to deliver quality and innovation in clinical practice. This will require cross site working so ability to travel will be preferable

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Health Professions Council Registration
  • Evidence of continued professional development to Masters level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Post graduate learning - external courses in MSK field

Desirable

  • PG cert's/ diplomas in clinical physiotherapy and / or healthcare leadership
  • Courses with recognised bodies such as AACP or BAHT or ATCP.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant amount of post-qualification with clinical background in respiratory, neurological and orthopaedics and MSK.
  • Previous experience at Band 6 level in MSK
  • Experience of Physiotherapy Triage and prioritisation

Desirable

  • Experience in MSK rehabilitation in primary and secondary care

Skills

Essential

  • Evidence of relevant specialist post graduate training in Musculoskeletal care.
