Job summary
Tressell Ward has 28 beds and will admit patients with a variety of medical conditions with the main specialism being older people's medicine. It is a fast paced ward, caring for complex older people including those with delirium/dementia.
As part of our Nursing team your duties would include general cleaning of the patient bed areas and assisting the nursing staff with essential patient equipment cleaning.
All staff within the hospital must play a key role in infection control and prevention.

Main duties of the job
The cleaning and remaking of all patients' beds/trolleys
- Cleaning of bed once vacated by the patient
- Cleaning of the bed space to include locker, chair, bed table
- Cleaning of all fixtures and fittings within patient bed-spac
- Cleaning of patient entertainment and lighting over bedside
- Dust control/vacuuming floor within patient bed-space
- Damp mopping floor within patient bed-space
- Replace patient locker bag if appropriate
- Check curtains for date and cleanliness and replace as necessary
- To clean all patient equipment as listed and defined by Matron of are
- Record the cleaning of all patient related equipment as procedure
- To ensure correct use of all materials, machinery, equipment as per Cleaning policies and procedures
- To adhere to NHS Cleaning standards and colour coding requirement
- Removal of all foul/soiled linen to designated area following legislative requirements
