Job summary

We are looking for a registered nurse for Uckfield Outpatients Department, with an interest or previous experience in outpatient working, who has good communication and collaborative skills.

Within our small outpatient department, you will be working with doctors, specialist nurses and also other staff, including allied health professionals and secretarial staff, to ensure the effective delivery of a high-quality patient experience. There may be occasions when you are the only outpatient nurse on duty and therefore we are looking for an experienced registered nurse.

Main duties of the job

To deliver nursing care to patients attending the small outpatients department within Uckfield Community Hospital. Supporting the clinicians to deliver an efficient and effective range of outpatient services, across specialities, including: maxillo facial surgery, vascular surgery, rheumatology and oncology. You will be responsible for setting up the clinics, supporting the patients and doctors, ensuring that the department is clean and tidy and the required equipment is available and in good working order. It would be helpful to have experience of rotas or willingness to learn and familiarise yourself with the clinic allocation. Good organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work autonomously and to be comfortable, (after a supernumerary period), with being the only member of outpatient staff on duty in the department.
