Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a full time, substantive, Ward Matron to support the team at Milton Grange Rehabilitation Unit in delivering high standards of patient care. Milton Grange is located in Eastbourne. The intermediate care unit with 27 beds offers short term rehab from both the Conquest Hospital and Eastbourne Hospital, but can also take patients direct from their homes.
The Multi disciplinary team at the Hospital consists of an Occupational Therapist and Assistant, Physiotherapist and Assistant, Adult Social Care Resource Officer and a part-time Rehab Support Worker and Activity Co-ordinator. The team works together to provide functional, holistic, patient-centred rehabilitation over 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The successful candidate will be a talented and visible leader who will inspire, encourage, and develop the team. This role requires current and relevant experience and a desire to improve the patients experience by ensuring that the highest standards of evidence based clinical care are delivered with compassion.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is accountable for their ward/department and will:
Be a professional role model leading and co-ordinating the ward team, taking 24 hour responsibility for the management of the ward. This role involves managing a wide range of complex and competing priorities.
- Promote and monitor safe and effective practice leading to high quality care.
- Enhance patient experience by ensuring that patient needs are placed at the centre of care delivery.
- Provide effective leadership and management
Contribute to the delivery of the organisation's objectives by maintaining robust budgetary control and levels of activity.
