Job summary

Matron General Surgery

Our theatre suite at Conquest undertakes a range of procedures ranging from Trauma & Orthopaedics, ENT, Urology, General Surgery ,Obstetric, Gynaecology and Breast . These specialties are continuously evolving in line with the needs of the service.

The post holder must be working as a Senior nurse or ODP (Band 6 or above) with a degree qualification or working towards. Minimum of 3 years at Band 6 and will require a significant amount of surgical intra operative care experience. The post holder must have a recognised leadership qualification and supporting evidence.

The post holder will be responsible for leading and delivering the Theatre Strategy alongside the Head of Nursing, General Manager and Theatre Service Manager in order to facilitate operational care delivery for our patients.

The successful applicant will be supported in their own professional development by the Head of Nursing.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is accountable for their department and will:Be a professional role model leading and co-ordinating theteam, taking 24 hour responsibility for the managementof theatres. This role involves managing a wide range ofcomplex and competing priorities. Some cross site and cohesive working with the Theatre Matrons.
