An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Clinical Effectiveness team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Working alongside the Clinical Effectiveness Lead and three other Clinical Effectiveness Facilitators, the post holder will support the delivery of continuous quality improvement, patient safety and clinical effectiveness across the Trust.

The post holder will be required to manage a wide range of priorities; excellent organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently using your own initiative is essential. In return you can expect a diverse and interesting role and the support to further develop your skills.

The post holder will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and have a professional outlook. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), negotiating and influencing skills are a must.

A comprehensive training programme and full support will be given to the successful candidate.

Previous experience of working in a Clinical Effectiveness and audit, quality improvement or other Clinical Governance role for at least two years is essential.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will facilitate, monitor and review clinical effectiveness activity as part of the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust Clinical Effectiveness team. Supporting healthcare professionals in identifying best clinical practice, implementing clinical audit programmes for designated clinical areas and evaluating the effect on patient care.

To ensure appropriate actions are taken forward in accordance with the publication of recommendations from local and national guidelines and to support the implementation of action plans.

The Clinical Effectiveness department offers a Trust wide service and provides support for clinical audit and related clinical effectiveness activity. The department facilitates the delivery of the Trust's Clinical Audit Forward Plan and supports the Divisions to deliver and evidence quality improvement through clinical audit and other quality improvement initiatives. This includes measuring clinical practice against best practice guidelines and recommendations.
