Job summary

This is an exciting opportunityfor a motivated Band 5 podiatrist to join our friendly podiatry team.Our podiatry caseload focuses on those who are medically at risk or who have a high podiatric need, consequently our patients tend to be complex with a variety of needs. We offer specialist podiatry clinics including nail surgery, biomechanics, and diabetes clinics. To enable you to undertake this role you will be encouraged to undertake rotations into specialist clinics to maintain competencies.

You should be up to date with current best practice and demonstrate our ESHT values and behaviours in their day to day role working as part of a team. We value health promotion and patient education We therefore require a podiatrist who has excellent communication and assessment skills.

We encourage team members to take part in various CPD activities including clinical supervision, protected time, in-house training during team and department meetings in addition to external training sessions.

Applications are invited from motivated BSc qualified and HCPC registered podiatrists who are keen to advance their clinical, professional and leadership skills.

This post is based in community setting but you will also work in acute settings. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes.

Main duties of the job

We are committed in providing you with a rotation of experience to build upon your undergraduate theory into practice experience.You will be given a mentor and supported in your first podiatry job to insure it is a smooth and enjoyable transition into your new career.Our Trust is vertically integrated across Primary and Secondary care and is seeking to recruit Band 5 Podiatrists to our Podiatry team.Our team is complemented with skills from the many staff who work across the Podiatry service of East Sussex and is dedicated to the providing the people who live here with excellent foot healthcare.We want podiatrists with a positive mental attitude, who are determined to provide the best evidenced based care and are committed to being part of a podiatry healthcare team, that provides an excellent caring service to our patients.The podiatry service works closely with the University of Brighton, to provide student placements and we are actively engaged in looking at ways to maximise this partnership, to further develop our staff and the learning experience for students alike.The service is committed to bringing out the best of our colleagues and employees and we want everyone who works here to have job satisfaction and feel proud to serve and be part of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.You will be working in a number of locations in community and acute setting therefore it is essential that you are able to travel between sites independently and in a timely manner.
