Crisis Response Service Conquest, Bexhill Irvine Unit/Rye Memorial Hospital, Joint Community Rehabilitation and Falls prevention Service Bexhill,
The Crisis Response Team is part of a MDT and is based in the Conquest. The service aims to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital or long-term care, enable earlier discharges from hospital in a timely manner. The service is a 7 day service.
Band 6 Specialist Rotation Occupational Therapist - Annual rotation (4 services) Permanent 37.5 hours.
The rotation provides the opportunity for you to develop your skills with patients with a mixed pathology and complexity. You will be working closely with different disciplines and the team.
Main duties of the job
Bexhill Irvine Unit is an intermediate care unit with strong links to acute and community colleagues. Clinical experience includes neurology, amputee's, frailty, non-weight baring, poly-trauma and a wide variety of other complex social and medical needs and conditions. We are advancing our Rehabilitation Strategy with a number of work projects and developments which have seen investment in our staffing and merging of rehabilitation services across East Sussex.
The Joint Community Rehabilitation and Falls Prevention Service is a short-term 7 day service which assesses and treats people within their own homes. It is an integrated service with Adult Social Care and uses an inter-professional model of working. This service aims to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital or long-term care, enable earlier discharges from hospital and promote independence and quality of life.
You will be fully supported to develop your specific OT, inter-professional skills, and areas of special clinical interest relevant to the role. We offer regular supervision and training opportunities for professional development individually, and through peer forums which are facilitated by our OT Development Lead. We support our local universities by providing regular student placements and we actively encourage leadership and quality improvement opportunities to support your professional development and improve service delivery.
