Job summary
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is looking to recruit 20 + new to care Healthcare support workers either in an acute setting in Eastbourne DGH or in people's own homes in the community.
Healthcare assistants are responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered Nurse.
These vacancies are open to individuals who,
- have never worked in Healthcare (in the NHS) but are interested in a change of career
- have a genuine desire to work in a healthcare setting
- have previous work experience and can demonstrate transferable skills
- are able to commit to a full week fast track training programme at the start of their employment
- are willing to be allocated to work at any of our Acute and community settings
- are able to work flexibly (across a range of shifts) to meet the needs of our services, including days, nights and weekends.
- are capable of successfully completing the mandatory Care Certificate training.
Preference will be given to applicants who have level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, although support to study these may be given for excellent candidates.

Main duties of the job
Healthcare assistants are responsible for providing a range of personalised care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered Nurse or Senior Integrated Support Worker in the community .
They support the effective operation of the ward and community home based environment by undertaking a range of non-clinical activities which contribute to a comfortable and stress-free experience for patients and the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.
