Job summary

District Nursing, Bladder and Bowel and Frailty in East Sussex has a developing remit, providing greater support to Care Homes via the Enhancing Health in Care Homes (EHCH) programme. Hence we now need additional B5 Operational Support Officer, and applications are invited for this permanent, full-time post.

You will be providing high calibre administration and business support to the District Nursing Service Managers and teams. This post will provide cover across the Hastings & Rother and Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford CCG areas on a flexible basis, with travel required between sites as necessary.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be expected to;

Assist in the delivery of safe and effective clinical services within the Division, ensuring that all targets, deadlines and objectives are delivered as appropriate.

Contribute to ensuring robust clinical governance systems are in place, which incorporates clinical incidents, claims, complaints, clinical guidelines and procedures

Liaise with healthcare professionals, management and administration teams on a day-to-day basis

Provide support for quality, performance, financial targets, operational priorities and service improvement.

Some line management of administration staff with the DN service as necessary

Excellent communication, attention to detail and interpersonal skills are essential, combined with a flair for problem solving and working to tight deadlines.

Qualifications / Training

Essential

  • Good general level of education including Maths and English
  • Educated to A Level or equivalent
  • IT qualification or evidence of equivalent training / skill
  • Management qualification (diploma / NVQ4) or proven equivalent training and experience
  • Ability to undertake additional training as required in post on new and updated systems
  • Evidence of on-going relevant CPD to degree equivalent including: ? Medical Terminology ? Patient Administration and Waiting List Systems (preferably OASIS PAS)
  • Knowledge of effective caseload management, referral to treatment time for community nursing and KPI targets
