A vacancy has arisen for a Health Care Assistant on the Haematology/Oncology Unit - Pevensey Ward, to work as part of the haematology/oncology team. You will be joining an established team of nurses in cancer and haematology services and instrumental in the development of this service

We are looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant, hospital experience is desirable but not essential. A minimum of NVQ2 two in health and social care or the equivalent. Successful applicant will be required to complete a Two Day long Induction course, which will include all the Trust statutory/Mandatory training to join our team inviting them to share their knowledge and experience with the ward; you will need to be well motivated and committed to high standards of patient care and personal professional development.

Main duties of the job

The Health Care Assistant (Band 2) is a member of the care team who will support Registered Practitioner in the delivery of routine patient care. The Health Care Assistant will undertake a broad range of care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner. The Health care Assistant (Band 2) will also work closely and under supervision of the Health Care Assistant (Band 3) and where relevant Associate Practitioners

We will provide a supportive atmosphere, mentorship and clinical supervision on the ward and are committed to professional development of all staff. Team working is an integral part of both wards with all staff enabled and empowered to make a real difference for their patients.
