Job summary
This is anexciting opportunity for a dynamic clinician to join our workforce as an Advanced Care Practitioner to work in our Emergency Department in Eastbourne.
You will be passionate about providing high quality, emergency care in this fast paced, evolving and exciting area of Urgent Care. We have an Urgent Treatment Centre which runs alongside our Emergency Department and there will be opportunities to work in both departments.
You will need to have excellent communication skills and be excited about being part of an innovative team.You will need to be self-driven with excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work at all levels of the organization. You will take pride in your work, be highly motivated, professional, have a flexible approach, good organizational skills, and excellent attention to detail and be able to work to deadlines and write reports.

Recent experience in Emergency Care or Acute Medicine of 5 years or more, is essential. Applicants with limited experience and/or without the Advanced Physical Assessment and Non-Medical Prescribers qualification will be started at Band 7 with an agreement to progress to 8a on successful completion of these key modules.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Emergency Department team to provide expert care and management of those attending the Emergency Department including the Urgent Treatment Centre. To make complex, autonomous decisions utilising expert practice and knowledge. To request and interpret laboratory and radiological investigation which are condition appropriate. To promote, implement and evaluate evidence-based practice.
The practitioner will participate in the provision of specialist education, training programmes and clinical leadership within the Emergency Department. They will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and review medical and nursing protocols, guidelines and pathways within emergency care.
