Job summary

Are you passionate about keeping staff and service users safe, and looking to grow your career within Infection Prevention and Control? We are seeking a proactive and organised Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) Co-ordinator / IPC Support to join our friendly and dedicated Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT).

In this varied and rewarding Band 3 role, you will play a key part in ensuring colleagues across the Trust can work safely while using respiratory protective equipment. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality quantitative fit testing, supporting staff with mask selection, providing training on the safe use of RPE, and ensuring all associated equipment is maintained and compliant. You will also support the wider IPC agenda, contributing to education, data collection, promotional events, and project work that strengthens infection prevention and safety across the organisation.

This role would suit someone who is confident, organised, comfortable working with staff at all levels, and able to use their own initiative. You will frequently travel to sites across the Trust, maintaining strong communication with teams to deliver timely training, testing, and support.

Main duties of the job

Provide quantitative fit testing for staff, coordinate and maintain all RPE equipment, deliver training on safe mask use, keep accurate records, support IPC initiatives and events, manage supplies, and communicate effectively with teams across the Trust to ensure safe and compliant respiratory protection practices.

Access to transport for work purposes is desirable.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.
