Advanced Clinical Practitioner – Podiatry (Professional Lead)

Job summary

Are you ready to lead, innovate, and shape the future of podiatric care? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) - Podiatry Professional Lead to drive the strategic development, delivery, and advancement of high-quality podiatry services across West Cheshire.

This innovative new senior position within the West Cheshire Health Collaborative (comprising Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) is ideal for an experienced clinician dedicated to delivering exemplary patient-centred care, driving service transformation, advancing clinical excellence, and fostering a robust culture of learning and leadership.

As the Podiatry ACP Professional Lead, you will work autonomously at an advanced level of practice, providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, investigation, and management for patients with highly complex presentations.

You will play a key leadership role across secondary care, community and system-wide pathways, you will help shape clinical strategy, drive service redesign, and support evidence-based innovation.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Leadership & Expertise

  • Oversee podiatric specialties with advanced clinical judgment.
  • Perform complex assessments and treatments independently.
  • Order and interpret investigations (radiology, bloods, pathology).
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into clinical care.
  • Adhere to professional and legal standards, including prescribing.

Service Leadership & Developmen

  • Drive service and pathway improvements.
  • Monitor activity and support business planning.
  • Assist with strategic financial and workforce decisions.
  • Represent podiatry at forums.

Quality, Governance & Safety

  • Promote quality, governance, and risk management.
  • Lead incident reviews, audits, and implement findings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection control.

  • Degree / diploma in Podiatric Medicine
  • Local Analgesia Certificate
  • Evidence of MSc level education. Such as: MSc Advanced Practice. Equivalent / other MSc mapped to the four pillars of advanced practice.

  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
