Job summary
Are you an experienced learning disability nurse looking for a new challenge within a progressive, experienced & supportitive community learning disability team?
Your role will be to direct and lead the Learning Disability intensive support element of the LD team, ensuring it's work is needs led, evidence based and in line with current legislation, values and service principles providing clinical expertise around challenging behaviour and autism whilst working within the context of a multi-professional framework.
You will carry a caseload of clients with learning disabilities whom have the most complex needs, where a very high level of clinical expertise is required to deliver care that will reduce health inequalities for people with challenging behaviour and/or autism and lead in the overall approach to clinical assessments and act as transformational role model/guide to deliver specialist learning disability assessment, intervention & outcomes.
The team core working hours are 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday, incorporating flexibility as required to meet service needs. The team has two bases, Macclesfield and Crewe.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will have a strategic developmental role across the the locality and within the team, working in partnership with local council, staturory and voluntary and 3rd sector organisations, people with learning disabilities and familes and carers in order to develop a culture of positive behavioural support and ensure local services have the skills and competencies to support people with such complex needs.
Provide expert clinical advice and intervention to people with the most complex challenging behaviour and autism.
Development and provision of training internally to the team and externally across the locality with regards to positive behavioural support, challenging behaviour and autism, ensuring the design, delivery and roll out of comprehensive training programmes.
