Job summary

To provide Information Governance and Records Management administrative support to the Information Governance and Records Management Department.

To process access to health records requests.

To assist with Freedom of Information Act requests.

To deliver a responsive & efficient service whilst maintaining proper standards of security, confidentiality & storage of health records.

To be responsible for retrieval, filing, tracking and archiving of health records - on and off site using the electronic tracking system and the Dataspace file live system.

To ensure compliance with Data Protection Legislation, the Access to Health Records Act 1990 and Information Governance standards.

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this.

You will be based at Springview Hospital on the Clatterbridge site.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for processing all associated documentation regarding appropriateness of requests, consents and identification checks, photocopying and dealing with sensitive information, ensuring that processes are consistent, transparent and legally compliant.

To assist clinical services in processing access to health records requests by identifying correct records to be checked for release and performing a first screening of the records for third party information and assisting where necessary in the final redactions as directed by the clinical services.

To assist with Freedom of Information Act requests by acknowledging and logging requests and providing partial cover for FOI officer during periods of absence.

To adhere to all policies & procedures designed to ensure the confidentiality & security of patient data
