Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust Corporate Safeguarding Team in the role of Safeguarding Practitioner.

As a member of the team, the postholder will contribute to ensuring that the Trust fulfils its statutory duties and responsibilities, and that staff are aware of their responsibilities in relation to the safeguarding children, young people and adults at risk.

This post is part time 18.75 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

To support the Head of Safeguarding, Named Nurse and Specialist Practitioners in the execution of statutory roles and responsibilities.

To promote quality and effectiveness of health workers responses to safeguard children and adults at risk.

To take part in developing and implementing policies and procedures and audit in partnership with other organisations.

To be knowledgeable in Safeguarding Children and Adults agenda with specific knowledge of Domestic Abuse and Child Exploitation / Contextual Safeguarding agendas, PREVENT, Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

With the support from the wider safeguarding team, they will work with complex safeguarding issues requiring strong communication skills, confidence in working and engaging with external agencies, and be alert to and supportive of measures to improve standards and practice.

To interpret and apply relevant, up to date research to clinical practice in consultation with the senior safeguarding team.

To promote high standards of practice relating to the safety and welfare of children and adults at risk in all areas of service provision .
