Job summary

The Team supports young people up to 18 years of age in the West Cheshire, Central Cheshire and East Cheshire areas.

This is an exciting opportunity as we develop our 0-18 Mental Health Access Services in the Community.

This post will be fully office based. The post holder will be required to work in one of the Cheshire bases in either Ellesmere Port, Chester, Winsford, Crewe or Macclesfield. The highest scorer at interview will be offered the full range of location choice. There will be a reduced range of location choice for subsequent scorers. Please note there may also be an occasional need to provide cover in any of the Cheshire wide bases.

Planned shortlisting date is 8th December and planned interview date is 15th December.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the clinical team, you will independently provide specialist mental health assessments with children & young people with complex mental health needs. In collaboration with the MDT, as well as the young person and their family, you will develop formulations and advise on treatment pathways appropriate to clinical need. You will also offer advice on appropriate support and signposting.

You will participate in triaging of new referrals, including screening for high levels of risk that that may need re-directing for urgent intervention.

You will undertake preventative aspects of service delivery such as offering consultation and expert advice to other professionals and participating in training programmes.

This role does not involve delivery of therapeutic interventions, however, opportunities may be available to work on a rotational basis with 0-18 CYPMHS.

This role will entail high throughput, but you will be joining a highly motivated team and supportive leadership structure.
