Job summary

We are seeking a clinical lead to work across our community-based children and young people's learning disability & ADHD & Autism assessment teams in CYPMHS. This is a clinical leadership role for a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RLND) with V300 non-medical prescribing. You will support children and young people with complex neurodevelopmental profiles and behaviours of concern, providing direct clinical input, in home, school and community settings, whilst supervising colleagues and ensuring safe, person centred and developmentally appropriate care.

Main duties of the job

o As Clinical Lead you will contribute to the delivery of high quality community based care across the Learning disability and ADHD and Autism assessment teams, ensuring evidence based, safe, and effective practice.o Deliver clinical leadership and expertise across both teams in a community setting, ensuring effective care for children and young people with LD, Autism and ADHD.o Hold a caseload of the most complex cases including those requiring behaviour support Informed interventions and prescribingo Prescribe and monitor medication in line with clinical guidelines and best practice for neurodevelopmental conditionso Undertake and contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments in collaboration with the multi- disciplinary team.o Lead on risk assessment and management, including safeguarding, with appropriate multi-agency co-ordination.o Embed behaviour support approach across care plans and staff practice.o Support young people and families in preparing for transition to adult services, including early planning, joint working, and education on self-management and independenceo Provide clinical supervision and reflective practice to nurses and other team memberso Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement activities.
