Job summary

We have a vacancy for an Occupational Therapy Technical Instructor within our Learning Disability Assessment and Treatment Unit, Greenways. Greenways is an inpatient unit in Macclesfield, providing assessment and treatment for adults with learning disabilities and additional complex challenging behaviours.

This full time post will work with the unit Occupational Therapist and the wider MDT to ehance the lives of those we care for.

There will be ample opportunities for development within this role and applications for those who are keen to make a difference to those around them, have a caring nature and initiative will be appreciated.

You will work within a forward thinking dynamic service who always strives to do their best.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a supportive multidisciplinary team and you will be required to provide a comprehensive and quality occupational therapy service to adults and their carers in the areas of learning disability and/or mental health.

The post holder will contribute towards promoting recovery, maximising service users' independence and maintaining optimum levels of functional skills in a predominantly acute inpatient setting.

The individual must also be able to demonstrate an understanding and application of the 6 C's in practice, these being Care; Compassion; Competence; Communication; Courage and Commitment.

The post is 37.5 hours per week and working hours can be negotiated according to service needs.
