This is an exciting and well supported opportunity for a 8a Practitioner Psychologist (7 to 8a preceptorships will be considered) to join our friendly and compassionate Complex Needs Service (CNS) in Cheshire East.

We welcome applications from newly qualified psychologists who wish to embark on a preceptorship journey. The post is based across Cheshire East with hybrid working in place. Training in modality therapies associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder (e.g. DBT, SCM, MBT) is advantageous but there is external training available for this post holder. A commitment to working in a Trauma Informed manner is essential and a desire to support communities is important. The work will be primarily to support service delivery, supervision and training within the CNS. You will be given opportunities to consider project working alongside regular supervision and personal development through a training route.

We welcome conversation with applicants interested in this post. We also particularly welcome applications and conversation with applicants from underrepresented communities.

Main duties of the job

Applications are very welcome from candidates who are applying at the Band 8A but also those who would like a robust preceptorship position at Band 7 to aspire to and work towards completing the competencies for a Band 8A over a period of training and development.

The successful candidate will be provided with extensive professional and clinical supervision frameworks and multiple opportunities to develop their specialist clinical (including developing/ enhancing therapeutic modalities) and professional skills through an extensive and well resourced CPD structure.

There will be close integrated links to the other Clinical Psychologists working a range of differing services across the trust.

We are very keen to attract the right candidates and will consider both part-time and full-time applicants (and appropriate job shares) and locality working dependent on how this fits with the applicant's needs and that of the service. Hybrid working is an option.
