Job summary

There has never been a more exciting time to join us at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) than there is right now. Having focussed our efforts over the last year on working at scale and in collaboration across the Integrated Care System, we are now turning our attention back to the transformation of our services, both within the Trust and across the wider system.

You will have responsibility for:

  • The development of a service provision and operational delivery of the Financial Services and procurement function.
  • To operate as the chief technical financial accountant for the Trust and to provide specialist/expert financial accounting advice and support in line with the relevant national policy and international accounting standards. To ensure strong professional networks are developed and maintained and that the department is expertly briefed on developments in all technical accounting areas.
  • To lead the department in all finance and accounting aspects of capital accounting and cash management.
  • Provide leadership to the finance and procurement departments and to ensure that all members of those teams develop to their full potential.
  • To act as the Trusts expert advisor for the charitable trust activities and the key contact when managing the relationship with internal and external auditors/independent examiners.
  • Be responsible for providing support and deputising when required for the Deputy/Director of Business & Value.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the continuous development of the financial accounts and procurement systems ensuring that they are in line with best practice and provide a cost effective service to the Trust. This also includes continuing to ensure that the integrity of the financial and procurement information contained within them is maintained.
  • Provide training to financial non-financial managers within the Trust ensuring that the financial accounts and procurement systems are understood and followed.

In addition to nurturing internal relationships, this role requires a strong communicator who is no stranger to developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships across organisational boundaries.

  • CCAB Qualified (Professional Accountancy qualification) With at least 5 years post qualification experience
  • Evidence of continuing commitment to CPD
