Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, Band 7 Income Accountant to become a key member of our finance team at CWP.
As Income accountant, the successful candidate will be key to financial management of income into the Trust. The post will be responsible for managing the small income team and providing high calibre income financial management for the Trust. You will also be responsible for coordinating the monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of the Trust's income.
We are seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals with good technical skills and the desire to meet the challenge of this role.
The role offers opportunities for personal development whilst building relationships and developing a deep understanding of the NHS and public sector payment system. Support packages are available for the right candidate to enable accountancy certification along with opportunities to utilise One Finance and HFMA programmes. The department is fully accredited to level 1, with an ambition to achieve level 3 accreditation.
The role will require hybrid working between the head office in Chester and home working each week.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the overall management and performance of the income team.
To be responsible for the successful recovery of income owed to the Trust and highlighting all associated risks to senior Finance colleagues.
To lead the preparation and accuracy of all income reporting in accordance with current guidance and local agreements. Ensuring this is undertaken in a timely manner to meet all internal and external reporting deadlines.
To support the development of the allocation of block contract income to improve the accuracy of the information within the service line reporting/PLICS system to support the Trust's understanding of its finances.
To lead on, and co-ordinate, the completion of all statutory and adhoc income returns in accordance with statutory and accounting guidelines and in line with deadlines. This will include support of income forecast out turn for the year.
To support the development and completion of the trust annual financial plan with a key focus on coordination of the Trust's income plan.
To support the development of financial systems to remove manual processing and implement effective, accurate and timely reporting.
