Job summary

A great opportunity for a newly qualified therapist to join a team of 5 Occupational therapists providing vocational rehabilitation for a community based service working with adults with an acquired brain injury.

The focus of the role is on productivity and assisting service users to achieve purposeful activity. The post is based at the Acorn Suite of Chester Health Park and provides a service to the Cheshire area. The Acquired Brain Injury Service has continued to develop since its origins, the team members have increased in numbers and the service deliver has expanded in many ways.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as an integral member of the interdisciplinary community team for a defined caseload under the supervision of the Band 7 Occupational Therapist.

The core role has a pre-vocational focus to assist service users to achieve their goal which can involve fatigue management, activity pacing, education, leisure and voluntary work. Intervention is primarily on a one to one basis with opportunity for group working with service users in their own homes and community settings.
