An exciting Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) opportunity has arisen within the Cheshire & Merseyside NHS Talking Therapies Supervision Hub. The Senior PWP role will provide Clinical Skills supervision to trainee and qualified PWPs across Cheshire and Merseyside in line with the NHS Talking Therapies Manual guidance. Post holders will need to effectively collaborate with external NHS Talking Therapies services, have a good understanding of the training demands for PWP trainees including assessments and additional supervision support needs. Successful candidates will also have a small clinical caseload and no line management responsibilities. Additionally, the team are offered a range of CPD opportunities.

All candidates must be registered with the BABCP/BPS as a PWP. Part time working requests will be considered

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the NHS Talking Therapies Supervision Hub, to monitor and develop the Step 2 workforce in Cheshire and Merseyside, and provide clinical supervision for Apprentice, Trainee and qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners.

The role requires flexibility in working within multiple trusts/third sector organisations, to adhere to a range of policies and procedures in line with the NHS Talking Therapies Manual. The post holder will hold a post graduate/graduate NHS Talking Therapies qualification in Low intensity working, have completed an NHS Talking Therapies Supervisors course or be willing to complete a course.

The post holder will provide high volume evidence based practice at step 2. Be competent in delivering the range of evidence-based interventions including: guided self-help, digital programmes and psycho education courses and to work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various settings.

Take a proactive role in the supervision, development, support and training of Apprentice, Qualified and Trainee Psychological Well-being Practitioners (PWPs). Work with the NHS Talking Therapies Supervision Hub Management/Team to support the evolvement of the Supervision Hub model and to lead on key elements of development.
