Community Staff Nurse for Dressing Clinic

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an RGN Band 5 to work in the Community Dressing Clinic due to staff promotion. This includes working within the Community Dressing Clinic, Doppler/Stocking Clinic and Care Community Teams when required. We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse who has a keen interest in wound care and leg ulcer management and would have preferably completed a tissue viability module. Essential to have completed the Leg Ulcer Course and be confident in compression bandaging. Experience within community district nursing would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team reporting to the team leader but would also be required to work autonomously, delivering evidence-based care. Good interpersonal skills are essential as you will be communicating with a wide range of health professionals involved in the patients care.

Travel is an integral part of this post.

This post is part time 22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Hope Farm clinic consists of three beds and the successful candidate will be responsible for the running of a bed on a day to day basis.

Responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of treatment plans to promote wound healing and skin integrity.

Liaises with general practitioners, social workers, families, carers.

Working collaboratively with the patient to support individualised patient care.

Stocking/doppler clinic also runs several times a week.

The dressing clinic in Hope Farm has four registered nurses and a band 4 assistant practitioner. The clinic is a busy environment but remains a friendly and happy place to work with great team ethics.
