Job summary

Healthcare Professional (Vaccinator) - Covid-19 and Flu seasonal vaccination programme

We are looking for registered healthcare professionals to support the next phase of our COVID-19 vaccination programme in the autumn. The role will be connected to the Trust's local vaccination hub in Cheshire West, but will include travel on the 3 Living Well buses across Cheshire and Merseyside to offer vaccinations and health checks to targeted communities.

Main duties of the job

Led by a clinical lead, you will undertake activities such as: clinical assessment, supervision of junior staff / volunteers, drawing up of the vaccine from multi-dose vials, and post vaccine observations support.

Appropriate training and supervision will be provided to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and patients.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level (level 5) in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area
  • Registered Health Care Professional e.g. NMC for nurses, GPhC for pharmacists and equivalent for other healthcare professionals
  • Current immunisation training / update or willingness to undertake

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of immunisation schedules in accordance with national recommendations
  • Practical skills and knowledge of cold chain procedures and medicines management
  • Working knowledge of electronic record systems such as NIVS and NIMS
  • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development and willingness to commit to ongoing CPD
