Job summary

Due to the current postholder leaving we now have an opportunity for a forward thinking, innovative and confident Band 4 Patient Flow Coordinator to join our Trust wide Patient Flow Team.

The teamsupports Trust wideAcute Mental Health services managingtheadministrative function of all aspects of patient flow. We monitor flow activityfor all Organic, Acute and PICU Beds within theTrust maintaining and providing up to date data and live information concerning bed stock and demand for beds. The team is also a crucial and pivotal point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will work a shift pattern consisting of 3 shifts for 3 weeks and 1 week of 4 shifts in a 4-week roster period. The Shift hours are of 08.00 - 20.00. We aim to rota only 1 weekend in 4 for each member of the team. The service runs across 7 days inclusive of Weekends and Bank Holidays 08:00 until 20:00 daily.

Main duties of the job

As with anyAcute servicethere isconstantchange; prioritisation and time management are key skills required for this position and the successful candidatemusthave proven experience in managing conflicting deadlines. They will be expectedat times towork autonomouslyandhave a committed and flexible approach tothe role andthe needs of the service remaining calm and solution focussed with the best interest of the patients at the heart of every shift and decision/action taken.

It is essential to be proficient in Microsoft Packages and have experience in using Excel to provide accurate and up to date reports.

You must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, as well as working as part of a team.
