Job summary

Band 3 HCSW Pain Clinic, Calderdale Royal Hospital

We are currently seeking a motivated, polite, and well-organised individual to join our friendly and busy Pain Clinic team at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

As a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker in pain clinic, you will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their pain management journey.

You'll work closely with our nursing and administrative teams, providing both clinical and clerical support to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing baseline observations
  • Providing chaperone support and being a compassionate listener
  • Promoting self-management strategies to patients
  • Assisting with X-ray and ultrasound-guided procedures in our designated treatment room
  • Supporting clinical staff to ensure clinics and treatments run on time
  • Handling telephone and reception duties, including appointment bookings in the absence of our receptionist

Essential skills and attributes:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Confidence in following instructions from medical and nursing staff
  • Familiarity with Cerner EPR system and general computer use
