Job summary

The General Surgery directorate is appointing into their Endoscopy admin and waiting list manager post. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to apply to for this full time substantive post.

This pivotal role combines people management with the chance to work in a dynamic and fast-paced speciality. You'll be part of a multi- disaplinary team, helping to ensure that adminstrative processed run smoothly and effectively to support high-quality patient care within our two Endoscopy units.

As Admin Manager, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the day-to-day administrative operations of the service.
  • Support the delivery of key performance, quality, and financial targets.
  • Contribute to service development in line with directorate plans.
  • Play a vital role in improving patient pathways through efficient administrative systems.

Main duties of the job

Provide a full and comprehensive administration service for the Endoscopy units, including line management

The administration/waiting list manager responsibilities will range of operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and their specialist knowledge and experience of the service to make decisions.

o This is a key post established to implement and manage monitoring and administrative systems to achieve National and Local waiting time targets.

o The Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing the administration team and patient waiting lists.

o They will oversee all administrative and clerical process to enable a high quality and effective patient focused service to be delivered.

o The manager will provide senior support and expert knowledge to the administration team.

o The manager will work alongside the clinical operational managers to support daily running of theatre lists and aid any escalations.

o Review and optimise the admin structure and processes in the department to support key performance measures and comply with National and Trust targets.o Ensure all staff are working towards the delivery of high-quality care to patients and JAG accreditation.To build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across the trust ensuring agreed quality metrics are achieved consistently.
