Job summary
The NHS has embarked upon an ambitious modernisation programme with a key objective to improve its service to patients. This programme is underpinned by Information Technology and the delivery of electronic workforce deployment systems (E Job Planning/E-Rostering) for capturing how we deploy our medical workforce. The Trust's commitment to the workforce productivity and efficiency includes the implementation of several interim and long-term Information and IT (IM&T) solutions. It is necessary to introduce new, or expand existing, IM&T solutions/systems into complex clinical environments which often span multiple organisational boundaries within the Trust.
The post holder will be a key member of the team, facilitating delivery of the service by supporting all associated administration processes for Medical E-Rostering and E-Job Planning, including support, and Rota Co-Ordination.

Job responsibilities
- Be an expert user of the Workforce Deployment systems, ensuring a good level of understanding and accuracy to actively promote E- Job Planning and E-Rostering throughout the Trust.
- Work with managers and staff across the Trust to deliver end to end implementation process including gathering data, department set-up, roster creation and approval, analysis and sign off.
- Provide regular and ad hoc training for managers and system users on a one to one or group basis.
- Provide system administration ensuring accurate maintenance of data within the systems, allocation of appropriate user responsibilities and troubleshooting of issues / errors.
- The post holder will proactively take a lead role in the management and delivery of an efficient rota service for the relevant specialities.
- The post holder will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of weekly rotas, ensuring that all sessions are covered by the relevant grade where possible, identifying, and escalating gaps in the rotas and relocating sessions/colleagues where necessary. Any amendments after distribution to be advised to all relevant parties in whichever format is used (email/rostering system).
- The post holder will work with the relevant operational team to ensure appropriate governance in place to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in all aspects of the functions of the role and ensure that the service responds to the needs of the wards and departments and relates to the functions impact on patient services.
