Job Overview
The post holder will provide administrative support, undertake and manage bookings, and generally support the efficient running of the audiology department at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS foundation trust. They must demonstrate excellent communication skills with both colleagues and the general public. The post holder will be required to book all areas of audiology including both adults and paediatrics.

To provide admin support and booking appointments for all audiology services ensuring that clinical capacity is maximised and waiting lists are in line with both trust and national guidance
Work on the department telephone system receiving calls from both adults and paediatrics audiology patients and supporting any queries in an efficient manner.
To work on the department to reception dealing with face-to-face queries, and booking patients in when required, all in line with trust information governance procedures
To communicate with both staff and patients in a polite and professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
Essential
- GCSE England and Maths grade 9-3 (A*-D) or equivalent
- Evidence of commitment to organisational and individual development and undertake all mandatory training where required
Desirable
- Accurate keyboard skills to RSA 2 or equivalent.
- ECDL/NVQ3 in Business Admin/Customer Service or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
Essential
- Experience in an office environment
- Experience of using computer programmes e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience of working to deadlines and targets
- Must have good and accurate inputting skills
- Experience of typing letters quickly and accurately
- Awareness of confidentiality
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of IT software including email, internet, databases, thinkpads and presentations
- Advanced keyboard skills
Desirable
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Awareness of Local and National NHS guidelines
