Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two whole time equivalent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists to join our friendly and supportive Children's Speech and Language Therapy Service on a 6-month fixed-term basis.

You will bepart of a dynamic and experienced team committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that makes a real difference to children and their families.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

-Assess, diagnose, and manage children with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.- Plan, deliver and delegate individualised, evidence-based intervention programmes.- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, education staff, and other professionals to support each child's communication development.- Contribute to team meetings, case discussions, and service improvement initiatives.- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to data collection and audit as required.-Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and continuing professional development opportunities.

About You

We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist who is:

-Qualified and registered (or pending registration) with the Health and Care ProfessionsCouncil (HCPC).-Passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full communication potential.-A reflective and proactive learner, keen to develop within a supportive team.- Able to build positive relationships with families and colleagues across education and health settings.- Flexible, organised, and confident in managing a varied caseload.

  • Relevant Degree/Diploma.
  • Registered with HCPC

Desirable

  • Member of Professional Body.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Essential

  • Undergraduate experience in a wide range of clinical area
  • NHS or Social Service experience
  • Good clinical reasoning skills
  • Evidence of CPD and reflective practice
  • Awareness of relevant Legislation, NSF'S/ Local and National initiatives.
  • Basic understanding of Clinical Governance
  • Critical Appraisal Skills
  • Ability to maintain legible and accurate records
  • Ability to undertake assessment and formulate treatment/management programmes with patients/clients, acting as an autonomous practitioner

Desirable

  • Previous experience working at Band 5 leve
  • Presentation skills
  • Recent experience demonstrating ability to assess, treat and evaluate speech, language and communication difficulties in a children's therapy service
