Clinical Specialist Weight Management Dietitian

Job summary

We are excited to offer the opportunity for innovative, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Dietitians to join a newly funded specialist weight management service, expanding upon our existing bariatric surgical service.

This is your chance to be part of a forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person-centred care to reduce health inequalities for adults living with complex obesity across Calderdale and Kirklees.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will:

  • Deliver evidence-based, timely care for patients requiring specialist interventions including bariatric surgery, weight-loss medications, and non-surgical weight management programmes.
  • Work closely with a well-established MDT including Bariatric Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Specialist Nurses, Psychologists, and Dietitians.
  • Conduct independent and MDT clinics, facilitate patient education and support groups, and provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
  • Contribute to service development, audit, and pathway innovation.

About You

We are looking for Dietitians who:

  • Hold a degree/diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and are HCPC registered.
  • Have experience working with patients living with obesity, including dietary and lifestyle interventions, GLP-1 RA medications, and bariatric surgery.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of weight bias and stigma in healthcare and society.
  • Are excellent communicators, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
