Paediatric Lead for audiology

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paediatric Audiologist to step into a leadership role within our dynamic and fast-paced paediatric audiology team.

This position involves providing clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team comprising audiologists, audiology assistants, and administrative staff. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with a range of professionals, including Teachers of the Hearing Impaired, ENT consultants, and referrers across the region, to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

Main duties of the job

The role involves conducting both routine and complex paediatric hearing assessments, including newborn evaluations as part of the Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP), as well as hearing aid fittings. Responsibilities also include carrying out clinical audits, observing and supporting staff development, representing the audiology department in external meetings, and assisting in the overall management of the service in the absence of the Head of Service.

Essential

  • Audiologist with BSc (Hons)/BAAT 1+2, and post qualification experience to include paediatric audiology
  • Registered with either AHCS or HCPC

Desirable

  • Mentorship training
  • external ABR training

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE

Essential

  • Significant experience in paediatric audiology
  • Experience in undertaking electrophysiological hearing assessment
  • Able to fit a wide variety of hearing aids using appropriate methods and validation
