Job summary
Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated State-Registered Biomedical Scientists to join our friendly team in Clinical Biochemistry as part of the Blood Sciences Department.
Previous laboratory experience and basic IT skills would be an advantage for the position however full training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and conscientious individual with a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver what is required to achieve a safe, high quality and effective service whilst continuously striving for improvement.
The Trust serves a population of over 400,000 and is based in laboratories at Calderdale Royal Hospital (CRH) and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI). The department has full UKAS ISO15189:2012 accreditation and has IBMS approval for training. The department offers training and development opportunities for the right candidate to further develop their skills and ambitions.
The Biochemistry section is well equipped with Siemens Atellica SCI systems, Versacell X3, Advia chemistry 1800 and Centaur XPT analysers interfaced to the Atellica Data Management system, along side other semi-automated platforms.
About us
Following a period of training and competency assessments the successful candidate will be expected to participate in round the clock working patterns, which include earlies, days, lates, nights, bank holidays and weekend working primarily at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, but with a requirement to work on a rotational basis at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
