Following changes in the structure of our senior team we have an exciting opportunity open to lead our pharmacy clinical services.
Evidence of leadership quality, clinical experience and reflection on practice are essential to this role. We welcome applications from individuals with excellent communications skills, a patient-centred attitude, and who will encourage a culture of continued improvement.
You will work closely with the Deputy Clinical Director of Pharmacy, Clinical Director of Pharmacy and stakeholders to oversee delivery and improvement of Pharmacy clinical services ensuring that patients receive the best pharmaceutical care right from the front door to discharge. You will support workstreams across both primary care and secondary and collaborate with other external partners including local universities and HEE/NHS E.
If successful you will benefit from working within a rapidly-transforming department with a firm interest in quality improvement and practice-based research. In this role you will be supported to further develop your ability as a senior leader.
Main duties of the job
Support the Clinical Director of Pharmacy in developing clinical pharmacy services provision in a manner that reflects Trust, local and National Health Service strategy and priorities.
To be a lead point of contact for clinical delivery of Pharmacy ward based service
Lead, manage and develop the Directorate Lead pharmacists to ensure that patients receive safe, high quality and clinically effective pharmaceutical care
Contribute to the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team agenda, to help develop a strategic vision and delivery plan for the Pharmacy Department.
Take delegated responsibility of the Deputy Clinical Director of Pharmacy in their absence.

Essential
- MPharm or equivalent Degree in Pharmacy approved by General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent qualification)
Desirable
- Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
- Registered Pharmacist with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain or other relevant professional bodies eg RPS Faculty, UKCPA
- Leadership / Management qualification
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

- Able to demonstrate significant relevant experience of clinical pharmacy practice
- Considerable post-registration UK hospital experience

- Computer literate
- Demonstrate knowledge and recent experience of Pharmacy Practice Research and Clinical Audit and use of bench-marking and quality standards
