We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, keen individual for the post of Medical Education Manager for CHFT.
This is an exciting, challenging, fast paced post which plays a key role in helping shape the delivery and future of Medical Education across the Trust. You will need experience as a manager in an education or training role.
The role encompasses all aspects of undergraduate and postgraduate education in addition to the management of clinical skills and simulation for medical staff, the library and knowledge skills service, the management of the Trusts education and training facilities and the administration of the appraisal and revalidation process for non training grade medical staff (in total a hardworking team of 11 staff)
You will need to have a keen interest in medical education, enjoy every day being completely different from the last, an eye for detail and a passion for working with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Education Manager provides strategic direction, specialist medical training knowledge, planning and leadership in relation to medical education. This includes providing guidance and senior management support where necessary.
The post includes management responsibility for the delivery and evaluation of teaching activity, training programmes, continuing professional development activity, induction and skills training for doctors in training and medical students.

The Medical Education Manager acts as the administrative lead for the Appraisal and Revalidation processes for non-training grade doctors across the organisation.
Medical education is a broad and far-reaching area of work with the main aim being to train and motivate medical students and medical staff.
The Trust has two Learning and Development Centres (Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary). The centre at Huddersfield is currently being redeveloped and the centre at Calderdale will be redeveloped over the next few years.
