This is an NHS Locum Consultant Post, fixed term for 12 months
The vacancy has
arisen due to a consultant leaving the post. This is a full time Community
General Adult Psychiatry Consultant post.
The role of the post is for the provision of psychiatric care and consultant
responsibilities within a multidisciplinary team serving Bracknell locality
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to provide clinical
leadership and expert clinical care to the allocated catchment within the Bracknell
locality. The post holder will be based at Churchill House, Bracknell
This post will be covered by the terms and
conditions of service for hospital medical and dental staff (England and Wales)
as amended from time to time. Travel
expenses are covered by National Terms and Conditions. Appointment is subject
to satisfactory pre-employment checks.

Job responsibilities
The post
holder will have medical and leadership responsibilities for the assessment and
management of patients referred to Bracknell. The caseload includes a small
number of mentally disordered offenders living within the catchment area who
are not known to the Regional Forensic services.
The
post holder will fulfil the requirements for the Mental Health Act, including
carrying out Mental Health Act assessments, acting as the Responsible Clinician
for patients on Supervised Community Treatment orders, and preparation of
Mental Health Act reports for those patients.
There is an exciting opportunity to develop the
Primary Care Liaison Network and the post holder will work closely with the
head of services and the locality director to develop this further.
