Our friendly and supportive team at the Sexual Health Garden Clinic is looking foranOutreach Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our growing service.
We are a busy level 3 sexual health service based in Slough, with satellite clinics in Windsor, Maidenhead, Ascot, and Bracknell. WeoperateMonday to Friday, with the requirement to work one Saturday every 4 to 6 weeks.
Given the sensitive nature of this role, we are seeking individuals who are open-minded, non-judgemental, and able to work within a highly confidential environment.Previousexperience in contraception or sexual health within a GUM setting is essential.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will have access to excellent training opportunities, including the potential to undertake non-medical prescriber training.
Youwillbe requiredto work acrosstheEast Berkshireoutreachareas,and travel to work at the locality clinics. It is desirable that you be a car driver with the use of car for work purpose. You will be supporting a wide range of cases - from testing and treating sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, to providing contraception. This role offers fantastic scope to develop and enhance your clinical skills.

Main duties of the job
Clinical:
Deliver nurse-led sexual health care to higher risk communities and priority groups identified by BFBC, RBWM and SBC within agreed guidelines and own competence.
Provide 1:1 care and hold a defined caseload of high risk, hard to reach/engage clients.
Use expertise and clinical skills to assess patients' needs in contraception and sexual health and manage care appropriately.
Issue and/or administer medication and vaccinations in line with PGDs and PSDs.
Teach patients, where appropriate, to administer their own treatment.
Provide clinical support, leadership and judgement to junior staff to ensure high standards of care and practice.
Undertake delegated management responsibilities.
Participate in clinical governance, maintain accurate records, support research and audit, and improve nursing practice quality.
Contribute to the general nursing service and work flexibly across East Berkshire settings as required.
Act as a specialist practitioner in sexual health and resource to practitioners in BHFT, BFBC, SBC and RBWM.
Professional Development:
Maintain NMC registration and professional updates.
Maintain evidence of development in line with NMC guidelines.
Actively audit the service, review and deliver KPIs as per specification.
General:
Role is not exhaustive and may be amended in consultation with the post holder.
Undertake duties as requested by the line manager to support service delivery.
