Job summary

This role isa great opportunityfor either a general or mental health nurse to ensure that their skills across both physical health and mental health grow. Berkshire clozapine service isa busy,friendlyand established service. The role will cover the whole of Berkshire, as we holdclinics in each of the six localities. Use of a car for work and a valid UK driving licence would be preferable.

Thisclozapineclinics run in different localities every day of the week, however the role will sometimes be based at our main base at Prospect Park Hospital dealing with queries and following up on actions from clinic, and on other days will be based in clinic performing venepuncture, physical health monitoring, monitoring the patient's mental state, all of which have clear guidance to follow.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 - 5pm and this role requires the candidate to be on site each day across various locations.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsiblealongside the other clozapine team membersfor managing the care of the over three hundred individuals across Berkshire living with treatment resistant schizophrenia. You will beparticipatingin clinics where you would be using your clinical skills including assessing the patient, venepuncture (training provided if needed) and motivational interviewing as you will often be the healthcare professional who is the main point ofcontact.

We are looking for an outstanding clinician who can bring both clinical and organisational skills to the team as we care for the patients while progressing the nature of the service to improve the quality of what we do for our patients.

You will be dealing with patients, theircarers, and various health professionals within the course of your role, so a commitment to developing the service that currently exists to enhance the care provided to patients by breaking down the barriers that traditionally exist between the various sectors of the health service would be welcomed. You would need excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
