Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for apart-time,enthusiasticband 3 Phlebotomist tojoin our CQC rated 'Outstanding' Trust.

Based atWest Berkshire Community Hospital,you will be workingwith a team of Phlebotomists.The department isexpandingitsopening hours and will be open betweenMonday to Friday between 08:00-18:00hrsand onalternativeSaturday mornings between 08:00-13:00 hrs. We are a busy, dynamic department and would like to hear from suitable qualified people.

You will have had recent phlebotomy experience (minimum 6 months) and are expected to complete our local competency assessments.

This post is22.5hours per week, with a mixture ofshifts between 8am and 6pmandSaturday shifts 8am to 1pm.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample.

  • Ensure safe collection of blood samples according to agreedprocedures.

  • Ensureappropriateandaccuratelabelling and dispatch specimens to laboratories.

  • To answer the telephone and deal with calls politely and efficiently
