HCPC registration as a Occupational Therapist and excellent communications skills

Understanding of intermediate care with experience of rehabilitation and hospital discharge

Car driver with a valid UK driving license with ability and readiness to be flexible within working days.

Education/Qualifications/Training

Essential

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
• State Registration
• RCOT Registration

Continuous Professional Development

Essential

• Evidence of CPD in a portfolio including attendance at recent post-graduate courses relevant to the clinical field / reflective practice in this clinical field

Previous Experience

Essential

• Ability to demonstrate relevant experience as an occupational therapist.
• Post-graduate experience of working as part of an occupational therapy team and multidisciplinary team.
• Postgraduate / undergraduate experience in NHS
• Experience of delegating tasks

Desirable

• Postgraduate / undergraduate experience in ward-based rehabilitatio

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Essential

• Sound knowledge of Occupational Therapy in the relevant area
• Knowledge of this post and ICT
• Self-directed learning
• Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments.
• Ability to work independently but seek help when required.
• Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession.
• Able to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner.
• Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate.
• Ability to supervise other staff e.g. assistants, technical instructors.
• Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services.
• Good knowledge of factors that contribute to good team working.
• Drive and enthusiasm for clinical excellence and clinical development

Additional Requirements

Essential

• Ability to travel between multiple sites efficiently.
• Full and Clean UK Manual Driving Licence
• The daily use of a car
• Ability to work on Weekends
