Job summary

Are you a qualified (or about to qualify) Occupational Therapist who is passionate about advocating for and improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities?

Our CTPLD team (Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities) is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team.

Working under the guidance of a Senior OT, you'll receive the ongoing support and supervision to help you excel in your role and take pride in delivering outstanding, person-centred therapy to adults with Learning Disabilities. You'll enjoy variety as no two days are the same. This OT role includes:

  • Provide assessments, interventions, and treatments tailored to the unique needs of each individual, including those with complex needs.

  • With appropriate guidance, manage a designated caseload implementing evidence-based care plans.

  • Cover a wide variety of areas from skill development to equipment provision, sensory assessments and support.

  • Conduct both individual and group work

As part of a multidisciplinary team based at St Marks Hospital, Maidenhead, you'll work in a variety of community settings including people's homes, supported livingservices& day services.

Our service hours are9-5 Monday to Friday and we can consider flexible working arrangements.

Main duties of the job

  • Work autonomously within a team, under the support of a Band 6 OT, to contribute to the development of the Specialist Occupational Therapy Service in WAM CTPLD.

  • Collaborate with clients, families, carers, and other professionals to assess, plan, implement, and review Occupational Therapy treatment plans for individuals with learning disabilities.

  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using person-centred, evidence-based approaches to create and evaluate individualized interventions.

  • Provide specialist clinical advice and training to colleagues, carers, and professionals, including students.

  • Set specific, relevant goals and conduct care assessments at the start, during, and upon discharge for each referral.

  • Maintain accurate client records and update Continuing Professional Development (CPD) records.

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a holistic approach to client care
