Specialist Community Dietitian based at Wokingham Hospital - Band 6

Berkshire Community Dietetic Service based in Wokingham has an opportunity to offer a permanent part-time band 6 post of 18.75 hours per week. There is a degree of flexibility and the ability to work some of these hours remotely from home.

The role is a varied community post suitable for anyone looking for community experience. The post holder will be covering a caseload of Paediatrics and Adults including Low FODMAP outpatient clinics. Experience is helpful but not essential as training and support will be provided including external recognised BDA courses where possible.

As a team we value continuing professional development, we offer excellent support for personal development and engage in student training. We are a mobile working service and offer our patients the choice of virtual appointments. To support this, we have excellent IT access.

Main duties of the job

  • Working under the guidance of the Team Lead Dietitian, to provide dietetic care to a varied and diverse caseload of patients in the community.

  • Providing specialist dietetic treatments e.g. low-FODMAP diet and Paediatrics

  • Travelling to and providing care at various sites including but not limited to community hospitals, patients' homes and some home working

  • Delivering a proportion of care using online platforms e.g. One Consultation and MS Teams

  • Coaching, delegating work and supporting Dietetic Assistant Practitioners (DAPs) and involvement in student training programme.

  • Involvement in departmental research activity

  • A four year undergraduate first or a two year postgraduate degree in Nutrition & Dietetic
  • UK registered with Health Professional Council
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association
