We have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to join our Staff Health and Wellbeing Team as a Manual Handling Advisor for 22.5 hrs per week.
As an overall team we are a mix of professions and sit under a specialist Wellbeing function as opposed to being part of an Occupational Health Team. This means we can really link into the support and benefits the Trust has to offer and you will have an excellent opportunity to impact and influence staff wellbeing and direct patient care.
As an "Ergonomics Service" our aim is to reduceand prevent musculoskeletal injuries within our staff group and you would be a key part in this. You will deliver manual handling education and training to all levels of staff as well as providing specialist manual handling advice and support to clinical and non-clinical teams. Additionally, you will perform individual employee risk assessments for both manual handling and ergonomics.
As a Trust we are big on staff development and can offer both internal and external training opportunities.
We operate 09:00 - 15:00 Monday to Friday and your hours would need to be done in this time. The office base for this role is St Marks in Maidenhead however your role would involve a mix of travel to different sites across Berkshire along with home working.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver evidenced based moving and handling training and education
- Undertake individualised employee assessments on ergonomics and manual handling both virtually and face to face
- Perform individualised risk assessments for patients with complex moving and handling needs
- Undertaking advanced assessment of difficult and complex workplace issues. Subsequently, implement appropriate and evidence-based equipment provision, in order to reduce the risk of harm to patients, their carer's and staff
- Assist with risk management, including datix incident management support and policy development
- Promote health and wellbeing for trust employees
- To deputise for the Senior Ergonomic Advisor in matters relating to the ergonomics team. This will include attending meetings, deputising for or making decisions with regards to other areas of Health and Wellbeing
