Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Head of Service role to strategically lead 0-19 Services across four localities in Berkshire, Peri-Natal Services Berkshire wide and Family Safeguarding Services in Bracknell Forest and West Berkshire. We are looking for an experienced leader, who is driven, passionate and excited to drive service development, focusing on quality improvements in line with BHFT vision and values and therefore make a real difference to our service users' lives.

The successful candidate will be influential in continuing to design and develop the service with the opportunity to shape and drive the vision and provision of the service, alongside the Service Director for Universal and Specialist Children's, Family and Neurodiversity Services.

The role will offer autonomy, variety and significant development opportunities for senior leadership and management skills.

The role will also offer flexibility, with the successful candidate able to benefit from a hybrid approach to working, if desired.

Full Time & part time hours will be considered.

The ideal candidate will:

- have previous experience of working in a senior strategic and operational leadership and management role.

- have excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.

- be able to empathise, be supportive and sensitive to the needs of others, and themselves.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will work collaboratively with their Service Director and the other senior operational and clinical leads to develop and deliver services that are responsive to local and national directives and need. This will include transformation of services along an integrated route where appropriate to meet the needs of service users.
  • The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that the services within their portfolio provide value for money. They will be responsive to both local and national requirements, embracing innovation and delivering in line with what matters to service users, staff and stakeholders; and demonstrate the ability to be both flexible and agile
  • This post will be supported by a leadership structure that focuses on quality improvements in line with the Trust vision and values. This post will have an essential role in leading the transformation of services within their portfolio of services to enable Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust to deliver the improvements to health services that patients and communities expect within the resources available.
