Organisational Lead for Quality Improvement
1.0wte band 8b.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and experienced improvement leader to take up the position of the organisational lead for the Quality Improvement within Berkshire Healthcare Trust's Central Quality Improvement (QI) team.
The role is dynamic and challenging and a key position within the Trust whose overarching goal is to drive forward and embed quality improvement in the organisation and its services.
Main duties of the job
- The post holder will be required to lead a central improvement team in effectively delivering on Trust quality improvement priorities through various programmes and projects which demonstrate improved outcomes for patients and services.
- The post holder will work collaboratively with other services and ensure Berkshire Healthcare is committed to creating a culture of rapid learning and continuous improvement; where people are trained, supported, empowered and expected to use and draw on the best evidence-based principles of both QI and improving quality.
- The post holder will work with the strategic and operational leads on the activities in relation to quality and service improvement. This will include attendance at a range of key executive, operational and strategic level meetings.

- Quality Management Improvement System (QMIS) is Berkshire Healthcare's Trust-wide approach to daily continuous improvement. It is a common set of lean tools (e.g., status exchanges, improvement huddles, A3, visual management, scorecards, unit leadership team meetings, process observation/ confirmation and standard work) and behaviours that are being adopted in every service to make small but meaningful improvements.

Essential
- Master's degree in a health- related subject or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of on-going CPD
- Yellow belt CQI training/ equivalent
Desirable
- Coaching or mentoring training
- Green belt CQI training/ equivalent
Knowledge
Essential
- Proven ability to manage a financial budget
- Experience in managing teams and experience in managing staff performance within a service.
- Proven senior management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of QMIS/ lean QI methodology or equivalent.
- Experience of leading successful projects where CQI supported this success.
- Understanding the health inequalities issues and anti-racism platform and how these impact on QI delivery.
- Previous experience in methods of improvement and theories of change and experience using lean thinking, tools and approaches.

- Excellent facilitation skills with proven ability in leading projects to deliver positive outcomes where there might be significant resistance to change.
