Job summary

Working in a small friendly Team that provides training to a diverse range of Clinical, Admin and Managerial staff from a spectrum of over 88 clinical services across the Berkshire area (from Newbury to Slough). The primary patient system is Rio and the team also train a range of other systems and technologies.

This role brings the opportunity to join a supportive team responsible for the design and delivery of highly engaging training across Berkshire Healthcare, including experience working in a project environment. Trainers enjoy the opportunity to work with a people from a diverse range of services across the Berkshire area as well as a varied routine where every day is different.

Willing to undertake relevant training, you'll have excellent presentation and communication skills and experience helping others learn and develop their skills.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

Some of the general responsibilities include:

  • Developing expertise on the systems, people who use them and their processes.
  • Deliver training on Rio and clinical systems.
  • Create training session design, guides and support materials and working with other IM&T workstreams.
  • Adapting your work schedule around locations and times services are available - during projects this may include some evening or weekend work to support ward training/ support.
  • Supporting staff in their work environment with new technologies

Working pattern

Training sessions are usually scheduled between 9am-5pm hours and may involve some travel to sites and setup where required with hybrid working from home and on site. Occasionally during projects, working times may need to be varied to meet service need.

Work base -Bracknell - London House, London Road, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 2UT, although the role is currently predominantly working from home.

Essential

  • Presentation skills, communication skills course or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of high level of professional and personal development
  • Relevant degree plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through experiences/courses to post graduate diploma level, or equivalent relevant specialist experience

Training

Essential

  • Training qualification, such as TAP Qualified or experience in teaching, supervising or coaching others

Desirable

  • 2 years' experience working in a training function
  • RiO Training Accreditation (Train-the-trainer)

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the use of electronic systems in the workplace including Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience designing and producing training or support materials (sample material will be expected for review at interview)
  • Experience independently planning and organising a broad range of complex activities including formulating work schedules/plans and priorities on a frequent basis.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative and with the minimum of supervision

Desirable

  • Design and create e-learning based courses
