As a highly specialised Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, you'll play a pivotal role, delivering expert psychological services to clients and staff within CRHTT West. You'll be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing invaluable expertise in psychologically based care and treatment pathways.
What sets this role apart is your autonomy within professional and local guidelines and policies. You'll contribute to maintaining and developing high-quality, safe, and effective services. Your role goes beyond daily practice; it includes utilising your research skills for audit, policy and service development.
Experienced Band 7 Psychologists seeking developmental roles are also welcome to apply. For internal staff, secondments are considered if desired.
Our core service hours run from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for your start and finish times within these hours. You'll be based at one of our West Berkshire sites in Newbury, Reading, or Wokingham. Occasional travel to other sites to see clients face to face will be part of the role.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Expertise: Your role will involve working within multidisciplinary teams, providing highly developed expert psychological clinical advice based on evidence-based approaches for patients.
Collaborative Support: You'll offer guidance on assessment, formulation, and treatment to MDT team members. Additionally, you'll provide ongoing practical advice and support through supervision, case reviews, and joint assessments or interventions.
Educational Leadership: As a lead on psychological formulation, you'll provide specialised teaching and supervision as needed within the team, contributing to the professional growth of your colleagues.
Team Collaboration: You'll work in synergy with other psychologists and assistant psychologists to deliver services to individuals in acute mental health crises
Lead Professional Role: As the Lead Professional, you may take on the responsibility for expert psychological assessment, case formulation, and treatment for a designated number of patients. You'll also coordinate care delivery by the wider MDT, set goals, and collaborate with patients and significant others for effective outcomes.
Guidance and Recommendations: Your role involves making recommendations to the Multidisciplinary team on additional assessments or interventions, as well as identifying necessary skills within the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care that leads to recovery and minimises risk.
